What’s crack-a-lackin’ Chroniclers?

Okay, I feel the need to clear something up; yesterday was NOT McCroc’s birthday. Contrary to his mindset, every day is not all about him. His birthday was literally a month ago. We gave him his day. We took him out for dinner. There were a few people present — we all had to be paid handsomely to spend time with him. But that’s over now, we don’t have to deal with McCrocapalooza again until next October, or at least we shouldn't have to.

BUT, he seems to think that since he was a boss before, all of those perks he had when he worked in the ivory tower should continue to follow him now. He still likes to boss people around. For example, a buddy of ours, Mike Colton, worked with us back in the day at the Graybar Motel. Mikie, me & McCroc were all just wet behind the ears some 40 years ago as we were all just biding our time until we could get out and do cool things like drive hard and save lives and stuff.

Yes, admittedly, McCroc climbed onto a comet and became a cake eater, wearing suits and all kinds of brass on his collar. While Mikie and I were more of the hands-on kinda guys. McCroc was getting his nails manicured and polished twice a week, as Mikie and I were getting busted knuckles when the wrenches slipped off the bolts.

Anyway, McCroc heard that Mikie was heading to Hawaii for a little vacation.

McCroc is keenly aware of where every outlet of his favorite shoe store is and he’d heard a rumor, that a certain store was holding onto an exclusive line of yellow, pineapple-inspired rubber shoes. He ‘suggested’ that Mikie make a run by that store and hinted that it was his birthday month (c'mon now, we just discussed that it had just passed) and that maybe Mikie might like to ‘kiss the ring’.

I tell you, the man has very little shame.
