Let’s get at it people. That coffee ain’t gonna make itself.

Day Three in Eugene. It's pretty relaxing, not as much of the hustle-bustle. The travelers are starting to settle in. They’re beginning to realize that we’re here for ten days, and they don’t have to do it all at one time.

Well, some of them are anyway. Mr. and Mrs. McRib are on a mission to take it all in! They've been to the event in the morning, the event in the mid-morning, and the event in the late morning. It's been a whirlwind of fun and excitement. At this point, Mrs. McRib had to beg Mr. McRib to take her back to the RV so that she could take a nap and recharge for the afternoon's adventures.

Snoop looking up into the stands for Da Coach.

Snoop was at the trials yesterday. Everyone was running up to him and trying to get a selfie—until Snoop saw Da Coach. Snoop jogged over to Da Coach, gave him a bro hug, took his phone out of his pocket said, “Whaddup Coach? How about a selfie?”

The Professor swears he saw Snoop slip a joint into his pocket surreptitiously as he heard him say, “Martha says ‘hi.’”

Wow. Does Da Coach know Snoop AND Martha Stewart?

Look, Da Coach isn’t the only one who knows people. I, too, know people. How many people do you know who can walk into the Dollar General store in Goshen and high-five Lyndsey at the customer service counter? On the way out, she gave me a wink and didn’t charge me for the extra PEZ candies I brought to the counter. I saved seventy-one cents! Take that, Coach! Da Coach may be a big deal at Nike and in Cerritos, but can he save seventy-one cents at the Dollar General? I think not! I’m trying to get the guy at the Circle K to smile. I think his name is Cletus.

Yeah, the McRibs know someone too. Their niece is friends with an Olympic contender. Big deal. Moving on.

The whole crew went to watch the afternoon events except Your Hero. Look. I’ve already explained that fractions are Da Coach’s get-down, not mine. I was very happy to chill at the RV watching the Dodgers, the Mets…and the Cards. Look, I like baseball. It’s not my fault that I bought the MLB package. The HB let me do it.

But I need to keep an eye on the Good Rev Dr. because he’s trying to steal my BFF. Every time he thinks I’m not paying attention, I catch him sliding in real close to the commander and complimenting his footwear.

“Hey, um…is that real rubber?”

Is the Rev thinking of a more casual look for his feet? I have it on good authority that the Rev is kind of a shoe guy. There is a rumor that he and Imelda had competing closets. Look, you didn’t hear this from me, but when the Rev hadn’t been by Chambers Shoe Shine Parlor in a week, someone made a call to the First Lady to offer condolences and ask if it was okay to donate the 12 pairs of shoes still at the shop to the Midnite Mission.

Sha'Carri Richardson thanking Da Coach

Talk about a small world! The HB & I checked in on See Pee Ess today because it's her birthday. She gushed her thanks and told us to tell everyone hello. I said, “Wait. Who’s everyone?” See Pee Ess knows the Rev and the 1st Lady! Dang! Y’all make the rounds, doncha?

Drink ‘em if you got ‘em!
