Sioux Falls to St Paul …and Will We Have Internet?

Travel day. Yay. Not too far, BUT it was an early ride. The HB and I were up at FOUR in the AM to roll out with the Professor and Yoko. Yep, she was trying to do her best to break up the band again. But the HB was just not having it. It’s no secret that Yoko is the brains in her office and even though she is supposed to be on vacation, she is in constant meetings.

The final straw was when we were at our campsite at Mt. Rushmore and there was no, and I mean ZERO internet service. It was at this point, Yoko used both hands to pull two separate clumps of hair out and let out a primal scream that was heard throughout the RV resort. It was the kind of scream that lasted about 15 to 20 seconds, which sent wildlife scurrying for safety and left the park so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

So Yoko and the Professor had to get to Camping World at nine to get their mobile internet system installed. I need someone to Google Camping World, Lakeville MN, and while you’re at it, Google Camping World Sioux Falls. Can someone tell me the proximity of both? I only ask because Jellystone, Sioux Falls is like two miles from Camping World, Sioux Falls. But guess what? Camping World, Sioux Falls does not have a mobile internet system in stock. Camping World, Lakeville, MN does…or did.

Yoko, who’s been trying to break up the band since we started this trip, said, “Uh, we’re running late. You guys can go ahead without us. We’ll catch up with you.” Then there was this time in UT where we watched as the Professor-mobile pulled out of their site early, leaving us in a cloud of dust for one of her “meetings”. Her 3rd attempt was foiled by the HB who told her in no uncertain terms that they would NOT be traveling by themselves almost 300 miles. We followed them to Minnesota listening to her hum Beatles tunes all the way.

Your hero stepped in it. I took a shower, then shaved before the HB got her shower in. 3 minutes into her shower, I hear the HB scream out, “HEY!! WHAT DID YOU DO WITH ALL THE HOT WATER?!?” I forgot the cardinal rule of RVing and showers, we only have a ten-gallon hot water heater. Oops.

“Here comes the Judge. Here comes the Judge.” My cousin, he’s two days older than your hero, is kind of a big deal. He’s on the State Court of Appeals. Mrs. McCroc, the HB and I got to visit with his honor, the judge in his element. We hung out in the big wig’s chambers, although he refused to don his powdered wig, I could see it in its little secret hiding place in his personal restroom. He then walked us around the building where we all wondered if we were supposed to curtsy in his presence also. I was also excited to meet some cousins for the first time, his wife, Kim and some of his kids, Gideon, Ariel and Cristiana.

Ok, it’s at this point, that I’ll admit a guilty pleasure. I am a fan of Prince. Yes, in all his purpleness, I believe the diminutive little guy to have been a genius. And since we were in Minneapolis, I just had to get a tour of Paisley Park. It did not disappoint. I left with a purple souvenir. A sweatshirt. The HB bought a tambourine. An eighty-five dollar purple plastic toy tambourine. It’lll make a nice decoration next to the purple chair I’m going to buy and place in my office.

We’ve been running quite a bit and I’m running a day or so behind. We’re actually in the second city area, but I’ll catch up soon.

One band, one sound.

Drink ‘em if you got ‘em
