Hey peeps! The weekend is here again! Man! That was fast!
We made it to New Orleans. It’s been an awesome trip so far. New Orleans has been on several members of the crew’s list.
We had our own personal guided tour of the city. We saw the French Quarter, the 9th Ward, Music Village, The Tremme and more. The guide we had was extremely knowledgeable. She gave us history, anecdotes and trivia. Samantha Stevens, was nonplussed, she slept through ½ of the tour. She only woke up for the beignets, then right back to sleep.
McCroc was only concerned with the French Marketplace. “Do they sell Crocs there?”
The Professor kept raising his hand as if we were in third grade. He had to interject and “help” Cynthia. I think he was trying to impress us with how much he knew about her town. “Did you know this…?” and “Did you know that…?” and “Have you met so and so…?” We get it Professor, you’ve been to New Orleans before.

When we finished the tour, Samantha woke up and wiped the drool and powdered sugar from her chin and cheeks, and her first words were, “Beignets?”

Friday came and so the Professor, Yoko, Dr. Francois and Samantha all took a scooter tour of the area. They were gone for a while and all we could think of was the heat. It was still morning and although the thermometer read 89, the heat index with the humidity took it up to 98. It was pretty muggy here in The Big Easy. They finally made it back all sweaty with traces of powdered sugar on the back of Samantha’s hand.
We did a little walking ourselves and were also victims of the humidity. We ducked into a restaurant for some afternoon gumbo and struck up a conversation with our waiter. He was impressed that we had reservations for dinner at Dooky Chase’s. We didn’t. He suggested a few alternatives; The Blue Crab, Neyow’s and one other that slipped my mind. We wanted to give Mini Me a proper send off. She will have to be up at 4 for a 6 o’clock flight back to Sac. We decided on Neyow’s and were not disappointed. Well, most of us anyway, there were no beignets.

I think we’re gonna have to do an intervention. The first step is admitting that you have a problem. Is there a group for that?
Safe travels, Mini Me! Walmart stops won't be the same without you!
Drink ‘em if you got ‘em!
One band, one sound.
